Lejweleputswa District Municipality stands as the administrative and developmental heart of the northern Free State, serving five local municipalities with a clear mandate to drive inclusive growth, infrastructure development, and sustainable service delivery. Guided by its vision and mission, the municipality works to uplift communities, strengthen local governance, and foster a safe, thriving environment for all who call Lejweleputswa home.

Our Mission
Lejweleputswa District Municipality (LDM) is committed to both capacitating and providing equitable and excellent service to its local municipalities and communities.

Legislative Framework
Lejweleputswa District Municipality has been established in terms of section 14 of the Local Government: Municipal Structures Act, Act no 117 of 1998, and was published in the Provincial Gazette No 109 and dated 28 September 2000, and came into being on 06 December 2000.
